Job Description
Our client is looking for a Tax Senior Accountant. All hires will work a hybrid format, will consider sponsoring a qualified individual and pay for relocation for the right candidate. Tax Senior Accountant will work directly with clients and assist partners to handle client responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in accounting or other related program.
- CPA designation preferred
- Minimum three years’ successful experience in the tax field, preferably with public accounting experience
- Experience with pass-through entity taxation a plus
- Research and technical writing abilities
- Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to thoroughly complete simultaneous projects within strict deadlines
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review tax work papers to document book to tax differences, including preparation and maintenance of deferred tax inventory schedules
- Identify tax issues and planning opportunities in the preparation and review of returns
- Research and prepare tax memorandums to support important tax positions
- Set-up and maintain member/shareholder basis schedules
- Prepare and review federal and state quarterly estimates and extensions
- Research and respond to inquiries from state and local taxing authorities
- Assist with and audit inquiry responses, review document requests, gather and analyze documents, and research applicable law
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, especially those relating to real estate development, construction, and pass-through entities
- Supervise and assist with training and development of new team members, assign work, monitor progress, review assignments, and provide direction to new team members.
